Electric nightmare

The electric diagram for my type 44 avant 1991
looks wrong. Is the Bentley manual only for American Cars ?
Or are the colour codes the same ??
(maybe i just need to take a closer look..?)

On the drivers side i found out, that a DEFA engine heater has been added, it looks like it is mixed up with the original wiring.
Maybe this is the reason for some of the weird electrics.
Is it possible to remove this ?
I think it will be difficult to find out what goes where...

This is the electric box in the engine compartment, connects to a heater in the engine.

Status:
I think i have to take the KI out first, and solder it:
Some lights doesent work, speedo is not working proberly
and Auto check makes a single sound when i turn ignition on, but without
"blink-code".

My fresh air fan only works if i hit it ! (contact ok, voltage reaching fan)
Could it be the carbon- brushes,
and can i change them ?

Okay, a lot of questions, hope you can help me.

cheers Birke

Hi,

with your heater problem I can not help you.

Your thought about the fresh air fan can be right. But there are no spare parts for the fan. So you will not be able to change only the brushes. I have asked Bosch for help. But they have not any parts for it. You have to buy a new one.

Sorry.

Hi Birke,

I can't answer the questions about the engine heater, but the others.

Yes, the ventilator has probably worn its carbon brushes. I would actually go to aftermarket spares shops and look for suitable brushes.

The single warning tone in the instrument cluster (but no visual signal) is possibly a faulty light globe (illumination) in the auto-check module. So, if you take out the instrument cluster, please check if the illumination of the auto-check is faulty.

Mark
