You ask, we translate
My english is much beter, so that aint the problem.
The previous owner of my 200 TQ vfl from 1986 has removed the airco compressor and radiator from the car.
Y want to fixx them again.
But on wich wire and plug (wire color/plug color) i have to connect the compressor ??
There are more connectors in that conner of the car wich will fit.
(and wherefor are the other connectors ????)
And how do i refit the radiator,??
Does someone have pictures of the wire and plug of the aircopump, ??
And the mounting / fixxing of the aircoradiator ???
At last, and that was not in german: does someone has experience with changing of the R12 to the R134 aircofiling???
or 143 aircofiling ???
R12 is a bit of a problem to get. Can i put in 134 or 143 without futher changes on the pomp or something else ??
greets niels

Ok.

Hallo
English answers do i understand better tham Deurch . . .
Wast is die : drossel ??? Where is it fitted ??
Und markus, you had a small talk about the conversion from 12 to 134.
But i do not understand all.
What do i have to change ???
The dryer was already missing, so that is not a problem .
And does R134 or 143 (i can get both) cools as good as R12 ??
They told me that R12 is much better than R134

Let´s do it
The Drossel is this one:
You´ll find it in the pipeline above the dryer.
You have to change the "drossel" (see the pic) and the dryer. The compressor is not necessary but is is possible that the gas going away in 2-3 years. So it´s better to update the compressor with new fictions for the 134a.
All other gas as R12 makes not so low temperature. But i think the maximum cooling its not so interesting. The general cooling is more interesting.
Thx uwe
PS: ohhh... mein englisch muß ich erstma wieder rauskramen

R12 is not only 'a bit of a problem to get' but it will be almost impossible to come by. Additionally, it is almost impossible to find servicing for R12 systems today - it's been thirteen years since it was banned. I'd definitely recommend using R134a.
Yes, it is possible to retrofit your Audi's air conditioning system from R12 to R134a. Audi has published a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) detailing this process - I have posted this in the V8 forum a while ago
here. click on "Attachment" on the top and save the .pdf to your computer.
The Audi retrofit kit mentioned there (part no. 4A0298107A) is available at any Audi dealer, costs 217 Euros (n Germany, prices may vary slightly in other countries) and contains all parts necessary, including the accumulator ("Trockner") and restrictor ("Drossel").
hope this helps,
Bastian
@ Markus: Die ganzen Bezeichungen sind auf Englisch leider total anders

?? file downloads on audiv8.com should be in no way restricted - anyone can download this file, not only members.
Anyway, here's the direct link:
http://www.audiv8.com/forum/files/92939 ... Cstung.pdf
And what does the drossel or restrictor ??
taken from
http://www.airconcars.com/html/how_it_works.html:
Expansion Valve (aka "drossel") : The pressurised refrigerant flows from the receiver-drier to the expansion valve. The valve removes pressure from the liquid refrigerant so that it can expand and become refrigerant vapour in the evaporator.
And what are the fictions on the compressor ???
O-rings /seals. You'd need a few of those, including the compressor shaft seals when overhauling your compressor.
R12 is hard to get but i found 1 or 2 people who have sold it, and do stil have it for sale (at least the say its R12)
That's good. I' d enquire about pricing, though. As the stuff becomes increasingly scarce and more expensive, in your case (remember, you have to get all those parts and assemble them, you can't just add R12 to an intact system - the only scenario staying with R12 which would make sense today) it's definitely the better option to go the R134a route.
regards,
Bastian

Hi there,
Just a small technical point: According to my ThermoKing dealer, our Audis are not fitted with an expansion valve, but rather with a "restrictor".
(And "Drossel" literally means "restrictor" in any case.)
Cheers,
Mark
