Hallo zusammen,
vor kurzem erreichte mich folgende Anfrage von <a href="http://forum.group44.de/profile.php?mod ... rge</b></a>. Kann Ihm jemand behilflich sein?
Viele Grüße
Gerhard :)

Hier nun der Orginaltext aus meiner PN:

Good day Sir, Sorry but I want to ask for a great favour. I hope that you can understand english becouse I realy didn't speak german for a long time. I am living in Romania/ Constanta and I am the owner of a beautiful car Audi 100CD made in 1983. The car is in a very good shape (less schok absorber and carburater).
If you are so kind please help me with some specifications about carburetor for an enginne WH 1.9 l ,( how works and tips to fix it ) and also about engine (replace timing belt) . Could you point where may I find some files in electronic format from a repair manual for this old but good car? Danke
Have a good day. George

Hi George,

if you're planning to do any DIY repairs on this car and do not speak German, I would strongly advise you to purchase a "Haynes" repair manual. These Haynes books are very comprehensive books on all aspects of maintenance for your car in english language. In contrast to the equally good but more common Bentley manual wich only covers USA models, this one includes your engine.
you can order it directly from the publisher here. Amazon also sells it. ISBN would be 1859601723.
Sorry for not being able to assist with caburetor troubleshooting but I normally go to Audi and say "fix it" when I need something done on my car. Additionally, I have never owned any Audi that was not equipped with fuel injection.

Cheers,
Bastian

P.S.:

Hi George,

according to my Audi book, the WH has a Keihin carburettor. I think it is similar to the one I learned to hate in a Golf II.
There are two pages in the book with a detailed picture of the details.
Maybe it is helpful, even if it's in German?

If you want digital photos of these pages, please let me know your mail address. I will do it only tomorrow in day light for better quality.

Regards,
Manfred

Gruss
Helge

George, if you still need more...

It´s brilliant black LY9B - looks pretty elegant.
But keep in mind, that it requires a lot of care, in order to maintain that
deep glow.

It´s totally different with my other car - the 1986 Audi 80.
This colour is called Zermatt-silver, a strange mixture between silver & gold (depending on the light).
This colour looks always the same, no matter if you have washed the car or not - perfect for the lazy ones ;)
On the other side, one can complain that it always looks somewhat dirty, so then again, taking care is a must. Otherwise people might think of an old rusty Audi in it´s final days on the road.

Gruss,
Olli

Hi SL,
Christin will doch nicht etwa Audi fahren?

Hello Bastian,
I agree, it is better for me to find a manual in English language but it is still o problem for me to buy this manual from Romania. The money transfer via net is a challenge. So that I try to find some useful information in any language in electronic format. I have some abilities in car repairs and using a dictionary for specific technical terms I believe that my car will be soon in good condition. Thanks again and if you ever come in Romania/Constanta please bring a manual for Audi 100 and I will pay cash.
Best regards,
George

- perfect for the lazy ones ;)

Bernd
