I saw few times the sign written on the back of Audi 100 like this: Audi 100 Ascott. And I can't find any information about what that Ascott is? What are the differences between normal Audi 100 and Audi 100 Ascott?
Thank you for your answers

It is possible, that the owner had taken it by himself?
My father has a sign on the back of his car, that is very near the original sign.. but do you heard of an Passat Arosa ???
Yeah , I know that , but I still don't know what are the differences44Q hat geschrieben:You are right, I also found some.
Audi Ascott
It seems to be some special series like Golf "Pink Floyd" or Polo "Genesis".

What do you mean French word-creation? They were only imported in France?JörgFl hat geschrieben:Hi,
I´m searching for the Ascott, and i Found it just on French sides.
Its taken in the following writing:
AUDI 100 / CC / CS / CD / ASCOTT
So i think its an only French word-kreation.
so i can understood why i never heared about- i DONT speak French
Yes i think so.What do you mean French word-creation? They were only imported in France?
hmm , maybe you're right about interior , but that is just one version of differences , but how to know the real differences?JörgFl hat geschrieben:Yes i think so.What do you mean French word-creation? They were only imported in France?
I´ve worked as a Audi mechanik in the erly 90´s and i´ve never read or hear about a ASCOTT - and the dokuments for repair say nothing about - not in USA , england, europe- ...
i can belive It could be a special-edition like a very good interieur-version.
Ascott is an english town .....
You say that signs Audi 100 and Ascott are in different styles , but I see that they are with the same letters , for example check out the "A" letter. This is an old writing which an older typ44 audis had before facelift... Newer typ44 audis before facelift(1987) had that writing which had typ44 audis after faceliftBlacky hat geschrieben:mhm.
very interesting
the style of the audi 100 and the ascott writing are different styles.
looks like the 'ascott' is written with older typ43 letters ...
the audi 100 with ne 'normal before facelift typ44' letters ..
here are soome more pictures, even of the interieur.

but it looks as if this cars best years are long over .....
( english for beam-aways )

Maybe you're right too , but this don't say what are the differencesBlacky hat geschrieben:Hi !
Just a thought about this ...
an 'english' named model upgrade/modification for a french 'target group' of customers ?
sounds to me a little like 'mercedes bolognese' ....*
okay, thats pushed a little too hard, but i think you understand
greetings !
roland
* : don't even think about it, it has absolutly no sense...
So those are the differences?Blacky hat geschrieben:hi again !
nope, it does not, was just a thought
there is a double decorational line starting at the mudguards, slightly below the windows.
beginnging at the front and ending at the rear triangle windows.
the interieur material looks different than the ones usually known here in germany ( i think ) , especially the fabric of the seats and the door boards.
have not seen this so far here in germany, i hope i'm not telling some bullshit![]()
there seems t be nothing special build in from the factory, normal seats, no climate control, only the rpm-meter an thus the digital clock.
but i'm quite unsure about the writings at the trunk flap ....
greetings !
roland

Haha , so in Ascott as I understand seats are a bit different and something else in interiorFourbee hat geschrieben:So there is possibly an mistake in E**A (wouldn´t be the first) , here is written "EATON" , the description is only to find in the 1985 frontwheeldrive model.
Indeed, the details fits mostly to the car on the pictures, for me the design of seat covers and door panels is quite similar looking to CS-Version (in that case with standart seats).
Okay, here´s the next question: Anyone ever seen an Audi100 EATON ??![]()

It seems a good idea to change the search engineManfred R. hat geschrieben:Dear Ignas and all of the new Ascott fans,
here comes the story:
I tried the French Yahoo search for "audi 100 ascott". The third result was a link to this forum and this thread! Fast guys, Google doesn't have it, at least not on the first page.
But then I went to another website - a true gem for our question:
http://www.audisportcollection.com/gale ... bnails.php
There you have first three Ascott pictures and then ALL FOUR PAGES of the Audi Ascott leaflet.
As we know already the Ascott was a special model for France. Named Ascott maybe because it is not much faster than a race horse
Here are the special features from that leaflet (March 1986):
1800 ccm, 90 HP (no catalysator), "best price/equipment ratio", halogen headlights and fog lamps, green top windscreen, 4 e-windows, central locks, inside adjustable mirrors (manual), leather stickshift cover, height adjustable driver seat, special seat covers in flanell Eton "formerly reserved only for Audi quattro" (see picture! Whow!).
That's it!
The Ascott, like other type44, seems to be running for ever and there are always some on sale on French car sale websites (other Yahoo hits).
I hope this clarifies a lot of open questions. And for all of us, who hadn't heard about the Ascott before (like me) -this is lifelong learning.
Best regards
Manfred
